A powerful reminder that success is not built overnight — it is built through sacrifice, discipline, consistency, and unwavering family support.
Mumbai :
Every year, when the SSC and HSC examination results are announced, thousands of students celebrate success while countless families reflect on years of sacrifice, hope, and hard work. Especially in the Science stream, where competition is intense and expectations are sky-high, success demands much more than intelligence alone. It requires discipline, emotional strength, consistency, and a support system that refuses to give up.
This year, one such inspiring story has touched Mumbai — the remarkable journey of Prathmesh Shinde, a young student from Worli who secured the first rank in Mumbai in the HSC Science stream with an outstanding 96.5% score.
But Prathmesh’s achievement is not just about marks. It is about a family that silently sacrificed comfort for a dream, a student who chose focus over distraction, and teachers who stood beside him at every step.
Prathmesh’s father serves in the Protection Branch of the Mumbai Police Department — a profession known for long hours, pressure, and responsibility. His mother, a homemaker, dedicated herself completely to creating a positive and peaceful environment for her children’s education. The family had one simple but powerful dream: to see Prathamesh succeed through education.
What makes this story even more emotional is the contribution of his younger brother, who willingly stopped watching television for two years so that the house remained calm and distraction-free during Prathamesh’s preparation. It was not just Prathmesh preparing for exams — the entire family was preparing for his future.
In a world dominated by mobile phones, social media, and endless distractions, Prathmesh made a conscious decision to stay focused. He stayed away from unnecessary mobile usage and avoided activities that could distract him from his goals.
Interestingly, his strategy was not based on studying endlessly for long hours.
“I studied only for two to three hours daily, but I was completely consistent. I never waited for exams to come close before starting preparation,” says Prathmesh.
His message to students is simple yet powerful — success does not come from panic before exams; it comes from small, disciplined efforts repeated every single day.
According to him, one of the biggest mistakes students make is postponing studies until exams arrive, which eventually creates stress, fear, and pressure. Instead, regular study habits, proper time management, and limiting distractions such as excessive television, social media, and unnecessary outings can completely transform a student’s journey.
Even when Prathmesh used a mobile phone, it was only for understanding academic concepts better and improving learning efficiency.
Today, after this remarkable achievement, Prathamesh dreams of becoming an AI Engineer, with the ambition of contributing to the rapidly growing world of Artificial Intelligence.
A significant part of his success story is also connected with Shiv Science Classes, which he describes as a strong pillar throughout his academic journey. According to him, the institution played a crucial role not only in academics but also in building confidence and consistency.
The teachers regularly conducted practice sessions, patiently solved doubts, and constantly motivated students to push beyond their limits.
In a city like Mumbai, where several coaching institutes have existed for decades, Shiv Science Classes has achieved an extraordinary milestone within just six years of its establishment by producing the Mumbai Science topper. Behind this achievement stands a committed team of educators working tirelessly for the academic and overall development of students.
Currently, Shiv Science Classes operates branches in Byculla, Worli, and Prabhadevi, offering coaching for students from 8th to 10th standard, 11th and 12th Science, along with preparation for competitive examinations such as MH-CET, JEE, and NEET.
To celebrate this historic achievement, Shiv Science Classes organized a grand felicitation ceremony for students and teachers. Prathmesh and his family received a heartwarming welcome amidst the energetic beats of traditional Dhol-Tasha.
As a token of appreciation for his extraordinary performance, Prathmesh was also awarded a cheque of ₹25,000.
The event was graced by the presence of Byculla Corporator Mr. Rohidas Lokhande, veteran entrepreneur Mr. Neelkanth Chaudhary, and Arthsanket founder Dr. Amit Bagwe, who felicitated the students and teachers for their dedication and achievements.
The journey of Prathmesh Shinde is more than just an academic success story. It is a lesson for every student, parent, teacher, and dreamer — that extraordinary success is never created by talent alone.
It is created when families sacrifice together, when students stay disciplined even when nobody is watching, when teachers continue to guide with passion, and when consistency becomes stronger than excuses.
In the end, Prathmesh’s story proves one timeless truth:
Great success begins with ordinary people who refuse to give up.
