A Musical Evening by Mandolin Wonders Orchestra.

Pradipto Sengupta Music Academy in collaboration with Colorectal Cancer Research Foundation and Indraprastha Apollo Hospitals is going to organise a Mandolin Wonders Orchestra performance on Wednesday 8th May 2024 at 6:30 PM at the Stein Auditorium,India Habitat Centre, Lodhi Road, New Delhi

This is being organised by Dr Deepak Govil- A Senior GI Surgeon at the Indraprastha Apollo Hospitals and President of the Colorectal cancer research foundation, who is also performing in this orchestra
It is a unique mandolin orchestra played by 14 mandolin players followed by a solo performance by the Mandolin Maestro Sh Pradipto Sengupta

Brief talk on awareness of colorectal cancer – Are you at risk ?
Followed by a brief on Mandolin evolution and history
Performance by Mandolin wonders orchestra which will be by 14 mandolin players who are all disciples of Sh Pradipto Sengupta.This will be followed by a solo performance by The Mandolin Maestro Pradipto Sengupta himself
They will be playing few classical music ragas and melodious and popular old Bollywood songs

About Pradipto Sengupta
A personality whose name speaks volumes for his contribution in the field of music as an outstanding performer, imaginative musician, arranger and a composer.
He has been tirelessly promoting the Mandolin instrument. Creating a Mandolin wonders Orchestra with his students is the first of its kind in India and is his brainchild.
Pradipto Sengupta‘s musical journey started in Kolkata and then he shifted to Mumbai. His first recording with R D Burman was done on 29th January1989 for the film “Jeene Do” and there after there was no looking back as he was creating milestones with his musical performance and worked with stalwarts like Laxmikant Pyarelal , Ravindra Jain, Anand Milind, Jatin Lalit, Nadeem Shravan, Ismail Darbar, Viju Shah, Uttam Singh and many more.

His contribution to the Mumbai cine world has created history with songs like ‘Mehendi Lagake Rakhna’, ‘Tumse Milke Aaisa Laga’, ’Nimbuda Nimbuda’, Tujhe Dekha Toh Ye Jana Sanam’, and the list continues. The numbers added to his credentials speaks the story of his success by itself. His latest piece of solo work which has broken all records is “Mere Rashke Qamar’ from the movie Baadshaho. To pen down his varied and vast journey in a piece of paper will not be possible because the list of Hits and History is too long.

Mandolin Wonders is a group of people wishing to create wonders with their mandolins under the guidance of Guru ji, the accomplished Mandolin Maestro Shri Pradipto Sengupta Sir.The group plays Mandolin orchestra with passion.
These are all varied people,Ranging from 17 years to 80 years,Living far away from Mumbai, different parts of Maharashtra, India and abroad – Nagpur, Gujarat, MP, Himachal, Delhi, Australia and US.
