Afsal, a rising star in the South Indian music industry, credits his success to the legendary composer Ilayaraja, whose music inspired him from a young age. In a recent interview, Afsal revealed that he started his career listening to Ilayaraja’s songs and was in awe of his musical genius.

Afsal had the privilege of singing for Ilayaraja in two movies – Vinodhayathra directed by Sathyan Anthikkad and Twinkle Twinkle Little Star directed by Vayalar Madhavan Kutty. These collaborations are among the most memorable moments in Afsal’s musical journey.
“I feel blessed to have had the opportunity to collaborate with Ilayaraja. He is a musical genius and has created some of the most iconic songs in Indian cinema. It was a surreal experience to work with him, and I learned a lot from him,” said Afsal.
