With over 26,000 members spread across 120 countries, this recognition highlights the extensive reach and impact of the organization in promoting humanitarian aid and civil protection.
Headquartered in Vienna, Austria, the Lazarus Union (Corps Saint Lazarus International, or CSLI) was founded in 2006 and has since been granted General Consultative Status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC). The organization operates on core values of tolerance, humility, mercy, and charity, which guide its initiatives in disaster relief and community support.
In addition to its recent world record recognition, the Lazarus Union was officially nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize in January 2017, acknowledging its global humanitarian work and commitment to cross-border reconciliation efforts.
Operating from its UN seat, the Lazarus Union has established specialized regional commands in countries including Austria, Germany, Italy, Brazil, the United States, Singapore, Kenya, and India. Notably, the Lazarus Union India, led by Prof. Dr. Dinesh Sabnis, has become a key player in humanitarian support and educational diplomacy.
