Imphal, September 21, 2025 – In a proud moment for Manipur and India, Dr. Khoisnam Tokyo Meetei, serving as Assistant cum Data Entry Operator at the Juvenile Justice Board, Social Welfare Department, Government of Manipur, has been honored with the Global Peace Icon Award 2025 at the Global Peace Awards ceremony marking International Peace Day.
The award was presented by Raghav Sharma, Founder and Head of Peace Initiatives, during a special event dedicated to recognizing individuals who have made outstanding contributions toward peace, harmony, and social service.
Dr. Meetei, known for his tireless efforts in uplifting marginalized communities and his personal initiatives to support the elderly, has long been admired for his humanitarian service. Beyond his official role in the Social Welfare Department, he has consistently provided pensions to senior citizens from his own salary, a noble gesture carried out in memory of his late father, Khoisnam Koba Meetei.
The Global Peace Icon Award celebrates individuals whose work embodies the principles of compassion, service, and peace. Dr. Meetei’s recognition highlights his impact as a beacon of hope in Manipur, where his service-driven approach has inspired countless others.
