We all are more than ready to say goodbye to 2024 and welcome 2025 with open arms. The time has been changing so quickly and the trends too. Whether we talk about personal or professional life, trend is something that can never be the same.
According to Ms. Yamini Sharma (an entrepreneur and business associate), there’s no fun in just following the old trends or copying others. But in order to be deferent, one should always do what he/she desires to, no matter how weird it would be to introduce the new trend to the world.
As per Ms. Sharma; most of the people live their entire life according to the family, society, culture and the place they live in. Some factors like peer pressure or a new trend influences or encourages them to copy what others are doing. In present scenario a person is only worried about copying these trends and he doesn’t even try to set his own trend or we can say that somewhere he has lost his ability to think outside the box.
Doing or pursuing something that’s not a very regular or normal for others might be odd but here we should be optimistic and think that this odd can be exotic too if we think positively and try to adopt the changes or modifications in trends.
Specially for women there are so many existing trends about personal and professional life. In personal life everyone expect a woman to be polite, sacrificing and she should be fine with others dominating her. The society expect her to get a basic education, maybe a basic job, get married at a certain age, have kids and then live her life according to her husband and in laws. Women that are doing good in their profession or becoming entrepreneurs are a bit odd for the society because of these existing trends.
Ms. Sharma says “Indian society is cruel for women. Because for the society, deferent is weird. But I always wanted to be deferent that I am. Doing good in school and college, always find time to indulge in art even after belonging to a traditional brahmin family, always find some time for gymming, saying no to 9 to 5 job and starting my own business, staying single and not getting married, besides the business being a lyricist, being a partial gothic are some of the deferent choices I made in my life. Yes, it was not easy for me but it’s better to be deferent than just doing what others are expecting you to do. Ordinary was never an option for me and that’s what made me come so far. And the most important thing is that the world might forget the trend but can’t forget the trendsetter.”
Ms. Sharma believes in the differences and respects the changes. She strongly believes that a woman should be strong enough both mentally and physically to prove herself no matter what the ongoing trend is. It might be tough and it might take some time as well but one should always remember that resting, planning and collecting energy is like the time before a long leap. There’s no sense in losing yourself in order to follow the trends but discovering yourself in order to set your own trend is what we call a winning moment. Because that’s what makes you, you.
