ONGC and Global Eye Hospital Patiala conduct mega free eye camp

Ekjyot Charitable Foundation, Punjab, the charitable vertical of Dr. Manpreet’s Global Eye Hospital, successfully organized another mega-free eye camp last week.  Patiala’s flagship free mega eye camp for the poor and marginalized residents was held in collaboration with the Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) India.  This camp is part of ONGC and Global Hospitals Foundation’s joint initiative, EKJYOT, to Combat Preventable Blindness.

Under ONGC’s CSR-funded project, the foundation willconduct 4,000 cataract surgeries for low-income populations across Punjab and Rajasthan within seven months.  Beginning December 2024, 2,900+ cataractsurgeries have been performed through 72-odd free eye camps, restoring vision for underserved communities.  The project is titled ‘Combat preventable blindness by Offering Low-Income Patients & Underserved Populations Surgical Treatment for Cataracts (Motiyabind) in the identified districts of Punjab & Rajasthan.

Talking to journalists from the electronic and print media, the Chief Eye surgeon of Global Eye Hospital, Patiala,Dr Manpreet Singh,remarked, “We are grateful for ONGC’s generous support, enabling us to bring light back into the lives of thousands.  Dr Manpreet Sigh, rated among the best cataract surgeons in Punjab, added, “Our field units specialize in eye camps for the poor and underserved.  Our foundation is committed to meeting the target and ratifying the trust imposed by ONGC in our mass camp abilities.”
