“Rhea Dsouza — The rising star at Skill Wizards Academy of Learning” claims CEO/Founder, Mr. Shannon Nogueira

Barbara Corcoran rightly said, “ You can’t fake passion”. We got in touch with Skill Wizards Academy founder Mr. Shannon Nogueira, to speak about his project and the waves it has been creating world-wide. However, a very special mention by Shannon Nogueira about a very passionate English teacher changed the course of this interview.

In the words of Mr. Shannon Nogueira, “I’m passionate about a lot of things including the academy. I seek passion in everything I do because passion drives motivation and motivation drives success but I find myself lucky to be working around young people who are so motivated and committed. One of them is Rhea D’Souza. Teachers like her and many others motivate me to give my best because I know they need me to be at my best so that they can give off their best”.

He further added, “Rhea exceeded every expectation from the day she joined the academy. I knew I had found a gem. Someone who would lead the English Dept to greater heights. She hasn’t disappointed since then. You should cover her story, not mine”

So here is our feature story about a 20 year old student turned English Tutor who makes sure that she gives off her best each and every time.

Rhea, a student at a reputed college in Mumbai is currently pursuing her B.A in literature while simultaneously teaching English Grammar to students at globally acclaimed and recognized Skill Wizards Academy.

As mentioned by Mr. Nogueira, Rhea had no clue about the academy and was only introduced to it by a common friend. A job opening post by the Skill Wizards which was shared to Rhea was the first point of contact. “My friend shared with me the academy page and told me I was the perfect fit for the job description and should definitely apply. This rest is history.”, says the 20 year old, English tutor.

Rhea claims that her journey at Skill Wizard has been an extremely fruitful one. She adds, “I have not only taught, but learned something from every class I’ve taken, be it adapting to a different teaching style, or being extra patient. It’s this constant teaching and learning that ultimately makes one love their job!”

We asked Rhea about her inspiration behind choosing to be a teacher. She mentioned that not all teachers teach because they love to, as a result, a lot of students end up either disliking them or getting bored. This became a motivation for her to learn from their mistakes, thereby ensuring that she is passionate about what she does and is excited to learn.

One of the few problems Rhea faces is being able to juggle between her academic and personal life. “However, there’s nothing a warm cup of coffee, and a good nights sleep can’t fix.”, she claims.

Rhea plans to pursue a Master’s degree in Literature and then continue to teach while she later earns her PhD in Literature itself. She sure is a ‘Girl with a plan’

We wanted to end this interview with a message from Rhea to the youth of today and all she said was “Do what you love and you’ll love what you do!”. We believe there is no better way of sending across this message of passion and commitment.

Thank you Skill Wizards for introducing us to yet another achiever in the field of Education.
