Mumbai-based contemporary artist Sambedana Das Mohapatra is making waves in the art world with her vibrant and emotive works that explore the intersection of nature and human experience. Born in 1983 in Odisha, India, Sambedana was inspired by her city’s dynamic art scene from a young age. She initially pursued an MBA and worked in the corporate sector before dedicating herself fully to her artistic passion.
Through extensive travels and residencies around the world, Sambedana honed her craft, creating contemporary pieces characterized by expressive brushstrokes and dreamlike imagery. Her work has been exhibited globally, including at prestigious venues like World Art Dubai and in Thailand. Currently, Sambedana is preparing for a significant showcase at Pragati Maidan, Delhi, from July 26th to 28th, where she will be exhibiting her artworks at booth numbers A2 and A3 as part of the “Haat of Art” exhibition. Alongside her fellow artists from the Ashtitva Group, this exhibition is poised to be a highlight of the art calendar.
